The quality grade tells you where a part comes from: made by the device manufacturer, pulled from another device, refurbished, or produced by a third-party factory. It determines the price, the picture and the lifespan of the part. Every item in the SKLO Repair catalogue carries one of six grades, and on the “part type × model” pages you can narrow the list down to a single grade.
Genuine OEM
A new part made by the device manufacturer. It matches the factory part in every detail: panel, colours, brightness, thickness, flex cables and mounts. This is the most expensive grade, and the one to fit when the customer wants the device exactly as it came out of the box.
Service Pack — genuine part in service packaging
This is what Samsung, Motorola, Google and other manufacturers call the parts they supply to authorised service centres. It is the same genuine module, usually already in its frame, in the manufacturer’s own packaging. For Samsung phones, Service Pack is the simplest way to get a genuine display rather than a refurbished one or a copy.
Original Used — genuine part pulled from a device
A genuine part that has already worked in another device and was removed from it in working order. It costs less than a new one, while being the same factory part. Condition varies, so for batteries we state the remaining capacity (SOH), and for other parts what sets the item apart.
Refurbished
A genuine base with worn components replaced. For displays this is usually the original panel with new glass, frame or polariser. The picture stays original, and the price is lower than for a new part.
Aftermarket Premium and Aftermarket
Third-party parts compatible with the device. Premium is the higher tier: for phones with an OLED screen it is usually OLED as well (including flexible Soft OLED), with picture quality close to the original. Standard Aftermarket is the cheapest: instead of OLED it often uses an LCD (Incell) panel, which is thicker, draws more power and shows different colours and blacks.
How to choose a grade for the repair
- The customer wants the original picture and the longest lifespan — Genuine OEM or Service Pack.
- The original picture, but for less — Refurbished or Original Used.
- An older device, or a repair that just needs to work — Aftermarket Premium, or Aftermarket on the smallest budget.
The warranty depends on the item and is stated on each product page.
Where to filter by grade in the catalogue
On the “part type × model” pages, under the heading, there is a “Quality grade” row showing how many items each grade has — for example, Service Pack displays for the Samsung A54 or refurbished displays for the same phone. The full list by part type is in “Display assembly: catalogue by model”.
